“Britney Spears Reveals Her Single, ‘Hold It Against Me,’ Will Be Released Tuesday - The Celebrity Cafe.com” plus 1 more |
| Posted: 06 Jan 2011 07:57 PM PST April Chieffo Spears made the official announcement Thursday. Britney Spears's fans will have to wait just a little longer to hear her new single. Contrary to previous reports, Britney's first single from her new yet-to-be-titled album, will not premiere January 7. Rumors of its early release began after Sharon Dastur, program director for Z100 in New York, said, while explaining the song, "The beat that they give her is really unique compared to other artists — this infectious bass beat beneath the song. Plus, the hook is just amazing. It will be out on January 7." But that statement was proven incorrect. "Lot of misinformation out there regarding the release of Brits 1st single. Don't believe everything you read," Adam Leber, a manager for the pop star, said days after the announcement. ""Unless of course it's an official announcement." That official announcement came Thursday via Twitter. Spears revealed when fans will get a taste of "Hold It Against Me." Spears wrote, "Heard an early demo of my new single leaked. If u think that's good, wait til you hear the real one Tuesday. –Brit." This will be Spears's first single since 2009's stand alone single, "3," and her new album, due out in March, will be her seventh studio album. Spears's last studio effort was 2008's Circus.
