Britney Spears' Millions Given To New Money Managers - Post Chronicle

Posted: 18 Oct 2010 06:18 AM PDT

Britney Spears' conservators want her money to start working for her - they've handed "several million dollars" belonging to the pop star over to financial advisors for investment.

Spears' guardians have received court permission to give control of an unspecified sum to financial experts at Merrill Lynch and Ubs Financial Services, acording to documents filed at Los Angeles County Superior Court.

And they're hoping the experts will find lucrative new ventures for Spears' money, which was previously being held in a trust account, reports Tmz.com. (c) WENN

Cooper to also do daytime talk show

Anderson Cooper will launch a daytime talk show next fall while keeping his prime-time newscast on CNN.

Telepictures Productions said Thursday that it has signed Cooper for a talk show that will cover social trends, entertainment and human interest topics. With Oprah Winfrey ending her syndicated talk show, companies in that market have been looking for new daytime personalities who will connect with an audience.

Meanwhile, CNN said Cooper has signed a multiyear contract extension for "Anderson Cooper 360."

Cooper called the daytime deal "an exciting opportunity to show another side of myself."

No change for Spears

Britney Spears has met with a judge overseeing her conservatorship, but no changes are being made.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Reva Goetz also met Thursday with the singer's father, Jamie, who retains control with attorneys over his daughter's personal and financial affairs.

Wearing a black dress and black boots, Spears was ushered into the judge's chambers by deputies.

Goetz later said in open court, "We had a very nice conversation."

She then said no changes were being made to the 28-year-old singer's conservatorship, which was established in February 2008 after Spears was involved in several high-profile incidents of erratic behavior.

Comic duo a hip-hop hit

Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake are the hottest duo in hip-hop — for the moment.

They performed a medley of rap hits on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" Wednesday night, and the clip is becoming a viral hit.

Fallon and Timberlake started off with Sugarhill Gang's classic "Rapper's Delight" and went on to perform jams from the Beastie Boys, the Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z and Eminem.

The 36-year-old Fallon says he's surprised by the skit's success. Fallon says he took time to get it right before taking the stage.

Fallon says that "you know I really needed to practice" because "you know I can't rap." He says that he was rehearsing in his apartment "till 2 in the morning" and that his wife called him crazy.

The NBC show's house band, the Roots, backed them up.
