Britney Spears a ‘World’-beater on new club jam - Boston Herald

Till the World Ends (Jive): B+

Pop's a dirty business these days.

From Madonna's "Like a Virgin" to-- Rihanna's "S&M," sex sells — sometimes it seems like it's the only thing selling. That's what's so refreshing about Britney Spears' just-leaked single "Till the World Ends." After recent Spears hits about three-ways ("3") and thinly veiled sexual innuendo ("If U Seek Amy"—say it slowly), "Till the World Ends" is a relatively innocent, simple-yet-hypnotic club jam.

Produced by ubiquitous Brit songwriters Dr. Luke and Max Martin, the second single from Spears' "Femme -Fatale" (due out March 29) bubbles from a ho-hum intro into a monster dance beat fit for Ibiza beaches, Vegas clubs and Friday night iPod playlists everywhere.

It's about nothing more than Britney blowing some dude's mind on the floor. It's about dancing until Armageddon. It's about nothing except dancing "Till the World Ends." Which is sometimes all you need a pop song to be about. We don't always need Britney panting "If I said I want your body now, would you hold it against me" like she did on her previous single.

But pop fans always need a huge hook, catchy chorus and break-it-down-build-it-up bridge. This song's got all three.

Check out the new single on Soundcloud.
