Britney Spears 'Very Hands-On' For Femme Fatale, Rodney Jerkins Says - MTV

Britney Spears is a month away from the release of Femme Fatale, and nearly every day, she's teasing fans with samples of some of the songs on the album, including the latest, her song with will.i.am, "The Big Fat Bass." Now, longtime collaborator Rodney Jerkins is opening up about hitting the studio with Spears.

"Britney's always great to work with. I've worked with Britney for 12, 13 years now," he told MTV News. "It's always great to work with someone when you work with someone time and time again; it's always great, and it always gets better. And just to see her evolve as an artist, it's an amazing, amazing thing."

Jerkins worked with Spears in the past on "Overprotected (Darkchild Remix)" and "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" in the early 2000s, as well as her leaked version of Lady Gaga's "Telephone," when she was recording Circus.

This time around, he said Spears knows exactly what she wants musically on the album. "She was very hands-on. She had a lot of ideas for me," he said. "She's great. She gets it. She is a top-notch veteran pro at this now."

She might be getting some help from Jerkins, but Dr. Luke and Max Martin are executive-producing the album, and Jerkins had nothing but the best to say about the production team. "I never spoke to them, [but] those guys are just great, and the stuff that they've been doing is just really, really great stuff," he said. "I'm sure with their hands on it, it's great."

Spears herself has described the album as "moody, edgy pop with A LOT of energy," hinting that many of the songs will be uptempo, and Jerkins noted that the songs he's been writing for her have certainly fit that label. "I know the songs that I do are uptempo," he said. "The stuff I've done, I think, will kind of shock people. I got a chance to go out my box a little bit too. She's great. Britney's just awesome."

People: Charlie Sheen, Sandra Bullock, Scarlett Johansson, Britney Spears, Ludacris, Hines Ward - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Just minutes after Charlie Sheen's live interview with TMZ wrapped, his publicist called it quits, Popeater.com reports.

Sheen, who brought his verbal hurricane of "winning" to a number of media outlets Monday morning, appeared on the site to continue his tirade with Mike Walters without the benefit of editing.

Following the interview, Sheen's publicist, Stan Rosenfield, told TMZ, "I worked with Charlie Sheen for a long time, and I care about him very much; however, at this time, I'm unable to work effectively as his publicist and have respectfully resigned."

Rosenfield, who also represents George Clooney and Robert De Niro, shot down reports that Sheen was either retiring or entering rehab shortly before the TMZ interview ended.

Upon hearing Rosenfield's decision, Sheen called his ex-publicist a (wimp) saying, "He's not allowed to quit, so you're fired."

As for the future of his career, Sheen told his fans and colleagues, "I hope you're all preparing your apologies."

nThe rift between once-good friends Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson still appears to be going strong, with both ladies avoiding each other like the plague at the Academy Awards on Sunday, Popeater.com's Rob Shuter reports.

"It seemed like both of their arrivals were carefully staged to make sure they were never on the red carpet together," an insider said. "They both knew the other was presenting, so it was no surprise that they would be at the same event, but they sure managed to keep away from one another."

Scarlett showed up at the Oscars with her agent, Joe Machota, by her side, while Sandra, wearing blazing red, looked happy working the carpet all by herself.

Any tension between the two women comes from the fact that since Scarlett and husband Ryan Reynolds filed for divorce in December, Sandra has been seen multiple times with the actor. They insist they're just friends, and Ryan and Scarlett were even seen having lunch together in late January, fueling rumors they were getting back together.

"So much has happened to Sandra in the past 12 months since she won an Oscar that I'm sure she wanted a drama-free night on Sunday," a friend of the actress said.

As last year's winner for best actress, Sandra was obliged to present an award on Sunday. "Whether or not Scarlett would be attending had nothing to do with her decision to attend, and what she does in her private life with a man that is getting divorced is entirely up to her."

Although, people who know Sandy best suspect the only man she's thinking about right now is her little son, Louis.

Britney Spears announced she'll perform a special concert on "Good Morning America" on March 29 -- the same day her new album, "Femme Fatale," is released, according to ABC News.

Spears appeared in a taped announcement during Monday's live show, where she announced that she'll perform in San Francisco's historic Castro District.

"I promise you it'll be a morning to remember," the singer said in the clip.

Fans are anxiously awaiting the release of "Femme Fatale," Spears' seventh studio record. She has released her first single, "Hold It Against Me," and a second single is expected before the March release.

Ludacris wants to do it with you on stage at a sold-out concert. Usher wants to make love in this club. But for Matthew Morrison, sex just isn't any fun unless somebody's getting evicted, Popeater.com reports.

Morrison, whose dulcet tones have previously made Sisqo's "The Thong Song" sound like children's music on "Glee," has just introduced fans to a very different side of Mr. Schuester with his first solo single, "Summer Rain."

The actor premiered the folksy song, which details his penchant for getting down on rooftops and includes unsubtle descriptions of "touch[ing] you there," on Ryan Seacrest's radio show Monday morning. Morrison said of the track, "I've heard that song so many times. I love it though. It never gets old."

Morrison, who had a brief stint in boy band LMNT during what he's called "the worst year of my life," told Seacrest that he is trying to create a new musical image separate from his "Glee" character by avoiding cover songs and penning his own music.

"I thought to be taken really seriously as an artist, I had to write my own songs," he told Seacrest. "So that's what I did."

Looks as though we're going to see if Hines Ward moves as well across the dance floor as he does on the football field.

ABC announced during Monday's episode of "The Bachelor" that the Steelers wide receiver would be one of the contestants for Season 12 of "Dancing With the Stars." Also named were boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard, Disney star Chelsea Kane, rapper Romeo, original "Karate Kid" Ralph Macchio, supermodel Petra Nemcova, reality TV star Kendra Wilkinson, deejay Mike Catherwood, talk show host Wendy Williams, WWE champ Chris Jericho and actress Kirstie Alley.

The new season will start March 21.

A spokeswoman for Elizabeth Taylor says the two-time Oscar winner spent her birthday watching the Academy Awards in a Los Angeles hospital room, where she's recovering from treatment for congestive heart failure, Associated Press reports.

Sally Morrison says Taylor was rooting for "The King's Speech" to win Hollywood's highest honor. Taylor turned 79 Sunday.

Morrison says a proper birthday celebration is planned for when the screen legend returns home.

Taylor has been hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center since early February. She disclosed her heart condition in November 2004.

Taylor won Oscars for "Butterfield 8" in 1960 and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" in 1966.
