(CBS) After much anticipation and a few teases, Britney Spears debuted her new music video for "Hold it Against Me" Thursday night.

In between a handful obvious product placements, the pop star dances in a futuristic setting, wears a flowing princess gown with tubes connected to her finger tips that later spit out paint, and fights a blonde lookalike using some impressive "Mortal Kombat"-style moves.

"Hope you guys love it as much as I do," Spears Tweeted. "If you didn't I'll kung fu kick you like I did to that chick in the video."

The video was directed by Jonas Akerlund, the same guy behind Lady Gaga's "Telephone," and Madonna's "Ray of Light."

Britney Spears' video 'Hold It Against Me,' off her album Femme Fatale, debuted Thursday night.

After weeks of buzz and 10-second teasers, Britney Spears is back.

The pop princess debuted the music video for new hit song "Hold It Against Me" on Thursday night. The futuristic video was directed by Jonas Akerlund, the brain behind Lady Gaga's "Telephone" and Madonna's "Ray of Light."

The video starts with the star surrounded by cameras, mics and television screens. She's seen in a number of glitzy outfits, including a huge white ball gown and a skin-tight red body suit.

Several product placement ads, including "Make up for Ever Paris," dating site PlentyofFish.com and Sony, are also prominent in the clip. At one point Spears even holds her own fragrance, Radiance, up to her face.

One of the most buzzed-about scenes is one reminiscent of Fight Club, in which the singer engages in a one-on-one battle with an identical Britney.

"There are really two different Britneys," Larry Rudolph, Spears' manager said, speculating about the meaning behind the scene to MTV.com. "There's a public Britney and there's a private Britney, and they're very different."

Spears referenced the scene on Twitter before the video debuted.

"Hope you guys love it as much as I do. If you didn't I'll kung fu kick you like I did to that chick in the video," she wrote.

"Hold It Against Me" is off Spears' seventh album, Femme Fatale, which comes out March 29.
