Britney Spears (right) with Glee's Brittany (Heather Morris) The long rumored Britney Spears episode of "Glee" will happen next week. Spears herself will make only a cameo appearance on the Sept. 28 episode. McKinley High's New Directions will perform at least three Spears tunes, according to the program announcement: "Toxic," "Baby One More Time" and "Me Against the Music." The "Britney/Brittany" episode will also mark the series debut of John Stamos, who becomes a love rival to Mr. Schuester for the attention of Emma. "Glee" has its season premiere Tuesday at 8. I didn't put a watch on it but I would say there is as much music as there is plot, most of which is based on a new football coach, a woman, who is a match for Sue Sylvester and a threat to both the Cheerios and New Directions. UPDATE: More "Glee" casting intelligence. E! online is reporting that Gwyneth Paltrow will appear (and sing) in a couple of episodes during the November sweeps. Paltrow will play a substitute teacher. Turnabout being fair play, while Emma is making Will jealous with a new suitor, Will will give Emma something to worry about by developing a crush on Paltrow's character.
